At Blackburn’s Fabrication we’ve developed a reputation as the fabricator to call for unique one off projects. Our diverse capabilities allow us to take on work for a wide range of applications and in various materials. In this project we were contracted by a customer in the industrial heating industry to fabricate a hydraulic skimmer. Measuring 8’ in length and 4’ in width, it was composed primarily of carbon steel and included a hydraulic ram and associated hoses. Fabricated required metal fabrication techniques as well as machining, all of which met tolerances of ±0.060”. After assembly and various dimensional inspections the skimmer had a coat of high temperature black paint applied.
