At Blackburn’s Fabrication we specialize in the custom fabrication of large scale heavy duty equipment and structures. In this example we were contracted by a concrete manufacturer to fabricate a large conveyor skid. Designed to transport gravel, it was composed of carbon steel and measured 21’ in length and 72” in width.

Working to the customer supplied engineering drawings, fabrication called upon many of our metal fabrication capabilities. Heavier gage steel was cut on our saws, while other thinner materials were cut on our shear, and laser cutter, with forming being completed on various equipment. This project also required the use of our precision CNC machining capabilities for many of the components. The entire project was welded in-house and received a 2-stage paint application making the exterior surfaces resistant to chips and nicks.
